Balance

My life is filled to the brim with activities and responsibilities. Often enough I feel that I'm being pulled in several directions at once. Everyone needs something of me and I get caught up in helping them instead of taking care of me. Trying to find the balance of work, play, friends and family, I often sacrifice my "me" time for other responsibilities. Over the last month I have infrequently made it to the Center and my sense of well being paid for it. When I take the time to focus on my training, I'm a better mom, wife and friend. Here's the moral of the story: take time for yourself and you will better meet your responsibilities. It rarely works the other way around!

Well Said!

Very well put Amburr! A similar situation occurred with me last week, I wasn't able to do much training and by the time it got to the weekend even I could tell that I wasn't the same person. I spent sometime on my own development on Monday even though I probably shouldn't have, but the mental results was exactly what I was looking for. Like a huge weight lifted from my shoulders.

I hope with the summer now here you have some "extra" time to work on your own personal development even if it is just a couple of minutes a day.

The external training we spend most of our time talking about in class is just the tip of the ice berg. The reactions your body has within is what makes every kick and punch and form worth all the hard work. So who ever does read this, pay attention to what your mind is telling you, what the inside of your body is feeling, and breath!
