Nashua Restaurants

Let's get the ball rolling.
Where is your favorite place to grab a bite after class?
For Thai food, I like Thon Khao, in the plaza just East of the school. The family that owns the restaurant is really friendly, the food is good and the service pretty fast. I confess that I prefer the curries at the Giant of Siam (downtown) by a small margin.
Tom's Restaurant List
Jackie's Diner: On main street accross from bank of America. Convenient because jackie's doesn't take credit cards, so hit the ATM. Great small diner atmosphere very reasonable prices and the best home fries in the city. not so good for after class as jackie's closes at 2PM but its definitely a good start to the morning (I'm a regular on saturdays)
Bagel Alley: Pretty much the only thing ON eldridge st, which is off main street by citizen's bank. bagel Alley features just what it says. Lots of bagels, bagel sandwiches bagels with lox if you ever want a bagel, go to bagel alley.
Olivia's Pizzaria in somerset plaza. Again I'm a sucker for punishment and I always eat before class, but I suppose if your a sissy you could wait until after. Olivia's makes a mean ziti and i ndon't think anyone has told them they are a small place, ebcause the helpings rival anything you'd find at the olive garden for size and taste.
Nashua Garden: Also located on main st. If I had an after class favorite this would be it. Especially since Wed's are dollar beer night. if you DON'T feel like fighting through a crowd off drunk college students upstairs for a beer though, you can stay downstairs for some of the best sandwiches in nashua. They use really good ingredients which makes a great sandiwch. its a sports themed bar so there are TV's everywhere, its a good palce to watch the sox.
Chicken and Chips: on West hollis st, they have rediculously good chicken nuggets and fries and the portions are enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Small drawback, they are Realllllllly slow.
Collins brothers chowder: The Best Soup Anywhere, lcoated on temple st. They are happy to give samples, and their "Samples" are eight oz bowls. They serve amazing soup and chillis but are carry out only.
Haywards off Exit 4 DW highway accross from Rivier College. Awesome icecream, great prices and I am a proud member of the hot dog club. Every five meals you get a free one.
Pine Street Eatery: Pine st. Very nice sit down atmosphere.
Shorty's Great reasturaunt, good food and the first thursday off every month you can put your receipt in a basket marked "PALS" to benefit the Nashua police Athletic leage Youth Safe Haven Ash st. center. if we raise enough money they will let us shorten our name!
PLACES TO AVOID:
Joanne's kitchen: massive sanitation problems have been observed here.
Poor pierres: jackie's was closed for her annual vacation so I thought i'd check out poor pierres. When a watress ashed her cigarette in my coffee I determined it was not on par and went to Denny's for a more classy environment. Thats right. Denny's.
Seven Star pizza: Very dangerous crowd after dark. Awesome for delivery but not a good place to be at night.
Golden Dragon: The lounge is not family friendly, the food is alright although southern NH pest control informs me they ahve a roach problem. Whatever says I, its bonus protein!
giorgios
on the few date nights kevin and i have had since kara was born we usually go to giorgios. technically it's in merrimack but close enough to nashua and just down the street from the school. i love their carbonera and kevin ususally gets something with scallops in it. their martinis are amazing and if i'm really indulging, we'll have their profiteroles (puffed pastries).
A spot to eat
Thon Khao is really good as a matter of fact I brought Marcy there one time and now she has threatened my life on more than one occasion if I go and don't bring her along. I am partial to the Hot & Crazy noodles. They have an awesome fried ice cream.
The Mandarin down the street toward Amherst about a mile from the school is a nice little Chinese food restaurant; you will see Inst. Josh and I visit every Tuesday after classes for a bowl of soap. I recommend their pork soup, the chicken soup is good to, when they serve it they put these rice crispy things in it that make the soup snap, crackle, and pop for the time you are eating it (well maybe not the whole time).
